about Sierra
The art of dressing hair captivated me at a very young age. I was constantly fussing with almost any hair that I could get my hands on- my own, barbie dolls, cousins, you name it! It wasn't a big surprise that I decided to enroll in Polaris Career Center's Cosmetology program my junior year of highschool. Excitement took hold of me after attending a field trip to a hair show in Columbus that October. I was mesmerized by the various product and color lines, the talented platform artists performing and It was then that I knew how exciting of an industry this was and that I could not wait to be a part of it. At Polaris I was able to participate in local, regional and even a statewide hairdressing competition as a senior cosmetology student. I also took my first salon job while I was still attending school as a technician/assistant at ESBI INT'l Salon in 2004. The owners provided an extensive training program that shaped me into a confident and successful stylist. I soon after joined their education team and traveled the country to help share their unique vision of creative color techniques, hair cutting methods, up styling approaches, and out-of-the-box business philosophy. I was hopeful to inspire and grow fellow stylists, as I was gracious to have received such abundant knowledge myself. In 2013 I was invited to Santa Monica, California to attend the SUDZZfx educator team training. My own passion and drive to construct amazing hair designs was reawakened and multiplied after working with Carla Ross and the rest of the team. I am currently a national educator for SUDZZfx and love teaching other stylists, sales representatives, and even my clientele how to utilize these awesome hair products. In doing so I have met many new friends, have seen a lot of cool places around the country and always keep myself inspired. I also enjoy attending hair shows and participating in continuing education classes to keep sharpening my craft. I have had the pleasure of learning from iconic stylists like Guy Tang and Rebecca Taylor most recently. I whole-heartedly love being a hairdresser. This is my DREAM career and I thank all of my wonderful clients for their ongoing support that makes it my REALITY. There is something so magical about the way that great hair makes a person feel, and it never ceases to amaze me how rewarding it is to be able to provide such an uplifting experience. Many mentors, experiences and truly listening to my heart has helped me discover my vision for Potion 27. Passion is my potion, what's yours?
